The Andrew Lees Trust (ALT)
The Andrew Lees Trust was set up in 1995 in memory of Andrew Lees (celebrated Environmentalist and Campaigns Director of Friends of the Earth). Andrew believed in empowering local communities to take control of their own environmental and development solutions and consequently the objectives of the Trust reflect that larger purpose and the example of his inspirational work, focusing on training, education and capacity building for local people to reduce poverty, increase food security and improve natural resource management.

"Kintana" is a union, that is fighting for a better malagasy eco-tourism. Hungry people have no interest in nature-conservation and environmental protection. The only way is to find a link between nature and economy. Tourism can help to protect areas of great importance in the sense of ecology. Kintana will advance the knowledge and the understanding that is necessary for further development of the tourism sector.
