July 2009: Schoolkids visit the Bandro in Andreba
In autumn 2008 MWC's comic book was distributed in four more schools around Lac Alaotra. Within this educational program MWC now invited the involved classes to Andreba, so that they could see the habitat of the bandro themselves.

During boattrips on the lake and its papyrus belt, the children got an impression of this unusual surroundings an could even catch a glimpse of a wild alaotra gentle lemur, a bandro.

With these visits MWC aims to deepen the knowledge, which has been acquired through the comic book during the school year.

April 2009: Comic Project places second in contest and wins 27,500 Euros.
Green Rooster (www.green-rooster.com) is the environmental initiative of the Germanpaper factory ‘Hahnemühle FineArt’. For one year, the proceeds from the sales of their new bamboopaper were collected and donated to one of threeselected environmental conservation projects. MWC’scomic project was one of them and customers could vote for their favourite project on the Green Rooster website until December 2008.

Thanks to your help,MWC’s project won second place with 36 % of votes. Antje Rendigs - chairwoman of MWC Germany wasvery happy to receive a cheque in the amount of 27,500 EUR at the beginning of April 2009. We are very grateful and would like to thank Hahnemuehle FineArt again for this very generous donation. MWC will use these additional funds to reach out to more children in the Alaotra region and to teach them about the amazing environment they are living in.
